W Hotel Mexico City Review
October 3, 2011 by: KRISTIN WONG

The W Mexico City is home to a slew of celebrity guests when they happen to be in town. Most recently, Justin Bieber stayed for two nights at the venue. He enjoyed it so much, he took to Twitter to express his gratitude:
“My room is sick, so blessed. Basketball court in my room... This hotel is the best… they surprised me with sand on my patio from Cancun and said: we wanted to make sure you enjoyed the beaches.”
Signs you have too much money #439: You have a basketball court in your room. And you’re nowhere close to being a basketball player.
Later that night, Biebs went out onto the hotel terrace to say hello to a swarm of screaming fans. Nice and all, but I do feel bad for the other guests.
The W Hotel in Mexico City also features an array of room choices, ranging from the “Wonderful Room” to the “Extreme Wow Suite.” The hotel’s color scheme is bright, fun and Frida Kahlo-inspired. Each room has an awesome view of Mexico City, and the hotel itself is close to the city’s Archeological Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, in case you want to get your culture on.
The Wonderful Room boasts a CD and DVD library, as well as a silk hammock over the bathtub. I have no idea why you’d want a silk hammock over your bathtub, but why not? And if you’re on business, you can upgrade to the Marvelous Suite, which includes an in-room scanner, fax, printer, and high-speed Internet. The second level of the suite is where you’ll find your bedroom. Yep, your room’s got two levels.
The Extreme Wow suite has a living room for entertaining, access to the two rooftop terraces, and a view from the bathtub.
And once you’re done relaxing in your room all day, you can go downstairs to enjoy Mexico City’s nightlife. Yeah, you don’t even have to leave the hotel for it!
The Terrace is the W Hotel’s nightspot, and the Whiskey is an awesome playground/full bar. They have a live DJ four nights a week from 10 pm- 2 am and serve light foods. For a heavier dinner, Solea restaurant offers steak and seafood and is open for brunch on the weekends.
