If you’re anything like me, budget traveling means you have two options: stay in a nice hotel in the crappy outskirts of your destination city, or stay in the city in a scary roach motel that most likely doubles as a brothel. Either option kind of takes the fun out of your vacation.

Luckily, there are now other options. And no, they don’t involve blowing your life savings. There are a handful of luxurious, posh hotels that are now offering guests a stay for under $250 a night.

India: In Goa, you can stay at The Sol, a twenty-room hotel with tranquil views of the Sinquerim River. Each room comes with a gorgeous antique four-poster bed and is designed by Indian fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani.
