Robert DeNiro
December 5, 2011

Silver screen legend Robert DeNiro joined his longtime friend and fellow actor Chazz Palminteri for lunch at Chazz’s new restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland. The venue is appropriately named Chazz: A Bronx Original. DeNiro was en route to Washington, D.C. to the Kennedy Center Honors program but decided to make a pit stop at the eatery. And here’s why.
DeNiro and his entourage ordered a signature veal meatball appetizer with fresh whipped ricotta cheese, a pizza made with the restaurant’s burrata cheese, a caprese salad, and penne with blackened chicken. Oh, and they also enjoyed a few homemade desserts. I wonder who had the honor of wheelbarrow-ing him out of that place.

While most of his eateries and venues are based in New York City, specifically the neighborhood of TriBeCa, De Niro is opening his next place overseas. He plans to open Nobu, a chain of Japanese restaurants, in Australia. The eatery will be based in Perth and will only be the second branch of the restaurant in Australia.
De Niro is planning to fly to Perth on Sunday to personally open the restaurant. And, if you've ever seen Mr. Personality in an interview, I'm guessing this opening will consist of him getting off the plane, going to the venue to cut the ribbon, saying "sup", and then getting right back on the plane.
