There’s a new playhouse in Hollywood and it’s making a lot of noise. New York nightlife impresario Rob Vinokur, who brought you Crobar and Elie Samaha, have successfully launched Hollywood's most buzzed about, first South Beach style nightclub in Los Angeles, Playhouse Hollywood.
Playhouse debuted on July 9th, and it's unlike any other Los Angeles club. The space can hold over 1,000 party animals and a lighting system that will remind you of any Las Vegas club.
There will also be a 24-hour diner, Sweet Love Hangover, connected to Playhouse and located in the front of the venue (entrance from Hollywood Blvd).
This playful take on a classic diner will satisfy partygoers’ desires for a late night bite or breakfast at noon. Sweet Love Hangover is slated to open in August 2009.
Muse Lifestyle Group, alongside premiere nightlife designers ICRAVE, have brought Playhouse to life with their over the top vision and design elements. The $6 Million renovation of the historic Fox Theatre features 13,000 square feet on three levels, 750-person capacity, four bars, intelligent lighting, and intriguing design elements to keep guests captivated.
Rocker Travis Barker was also in the house as he tried to keep a low profile above the dance floor observing the crowd below while Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton partied on a few tables away.
Friday night brought in supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio while Saturday night drew in Hollywood heavyweights Gerard Butler and Brett Ratner, among others.
Lindsay Lohan hit the club on Sunday night to watch her on again / off again gal pal Samantha Ronson take over the turntables. A source says the two didn’t interact at all. Yikes!
Note to all you partygoers, before hitting the iron gates make sure to get on the list. We want to save you from embarrassment, since the club has the toughest door guy in town. To learn more on Playhouse Hollywood Click Here.

All you Sin City partiers we got some scoop for you! There's a new hotspot in town! Rapper Lil Jon and pop punk princess Avril Lavigne opened the doors of club Privé on New Years Eve. Lil Jon was the guest DJ and even brought in rapper Too $hort to perform for the eager club goers. The night also brought in singer Robin Thicke.
Privé is Miami’s hot spot and has now opened its doors in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. The club features 12,000 square feet of luxuriously appointed design elements. We checked this spot out and have to say it is amazing.
If you are not into the big club environment check out the Living Room, which is a small lounge adjacent to the club. After spending our weekend at these two locations we realized that we have found a new home in Las Vegas.
