The Hard Rock Hotel is known to start trends--it was one of the very first hotels to open its own club, Body English Nightclub and then it took partying to new limits with the opening of the first pool club. And now finally the hotel is opening a new joint, literally.

Yesterday a ribbon cutting ceremony took place to mark the opening of the Joint, the brand new, state-of-the-art concert venue.

The event featured Carlos Santana, recording artist and resident headliner Randy Kwasniewski, President of Morgans Hotel Group, Las Vegas and President and COO of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino John Meglen, President and co-CEO of AEG Live/Concerts West Patrick Berge, President of Sceno Plus Oscar Goodman and the Mayor of Las Vegas.

The Joint's grand opening celebration continues this weekend with concerts from The Killers, Avenged Sevenfold and Paul McCartney. Offering an unparalleled commitment to rock and roll, The Joint features a cutting-edge sound and lighting system, seven luxury suites, and the most sophisticated, intimate and authentic experience in Las Vegas for performers and fans alike.

Hollyscoop got the opportunity to hit up The Joint while construction was still taking place to give you an inside look of what concert seekers can expect.

We caught up with Vice President of Marketing for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Philip Shalala, who gave us a tour of the space-- where no cameras had been before. Check out our special video coverage below.
