Bacon is good. We all know that. It’s great by itself, it’s great on burgers. I can even handle a bacon candle.
But come on, guys. We have to draw the line somewhere.
Burger King has introduced a new Bacon Sundae in Nashville, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: an ice cream sundae with bacon in it. The most bizarre part of the whole thing is that they’re not the first chain to roll out a bacon-based dessert. Hell, they’re not even the second. Denny’s introduced their Maple Bacon
Sundae last year, asking eaters one rhetorical question:
“We did WHAT with bacon?”
A Georgia steakhouse sparked an uproar when they suggested their “Black and Bleu” Ribeye sandwich was inspired by Chris Brown’s assault on Rihanna three years ago.
I'm not a public speaking expert or anything, but comparing a battered woman to chopped meat…probably not a good idea. People were outraged when Chops & Hops Steakhouse in Watkinsville, GA took to
Facebook and Twitter to announce a new sandwich only available for one day.
Starbucks has come up with yet another way to get us to all wake up: energy drinks.
The massive coffee chain announced at its annual meeting in Seattle that it plans to introduce a new line of “natural” energy drinks in April. They’re called ‘Starbucks Refreshers’ and they’ll be sold at grocers, convenience stores and of course, Starbucks stores. So you can spend hours on your laptop sipping on something other than coffee.
The Good News: everyone’s favorite late night food, Taco Bell, is now offering early-morning menu items.
The Bad News: It’s only available in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado and some Texas locations. So if you were thinking about moving to any of these states, here’s a good incentive.
Most restaurants will start serving breakfast around 8 or 9 am and stop at 11 am.
Oh dear god please don’t let thin mints be bad for me…
Those little girls outside of the supermarket might look cute and innocent, selling their cookies for reasonable prices. But beware, you might be blasting these little sash-wearing devils when you’re carrying around a ten pound Tagalong gut.
You got to hand it to her, she’s got determination. While most of us would give in after being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, saying ‘Okay, maybe I don’t need to deep fry a layer of butter on top of my donut cheeseburgers,’ Paula Deen refuses to let a little thing like an impending heart attack keep her down.
The Food Network star, who has made a name for herself for drenching all of her already-fatty food in “butter y’all,” has just announced that she’s been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
Nearly fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream. Today, we’re still celebrating that dream.
Racial equality might not be polished to perfection, but we’ve come a long way since 1963. And the third Monday of every January is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The date is set to fall near King’s birthday, on January 15th. From parades to breakfasts to concerts, here’s how the Nation is celebrating this year’s MLK Day.
Atlanta: Commemorative Service at Ebenezer Baptist Church: Martin Luther King, Jr. preached from the pulpit of this church. And every MLK Day, the church holds a commemorative service to honor the reverend.
If anything disastrous happens to you today, blame it on Friday the 13th. For years, that date has been shrouded in bad luck. And I think it says something about us as a people that we have a specific bad luck holiday but don’t have one for good luck. What exactly does it say about us, you ask? I dunno, what am I, an anthropologist?
In honor of the infamous Friday the 13th, we’ve put together a list of some bizarre food superstitions. Check them out, and have a happy Friday the 13th!
I don’t know about you, but I’m just about sick of walking around like a fool, drinking my Diet Coke out of a can that isn’t decorated with floral, houndstooth or zebra print.
Those days are finally over. In Europe, at least.
As part of their female-oriented “Love It Light” campaign overseas, Diet Coke has launched a series of cans that feature a lip-sticked woman’s profile in three different prints. The company has teamed up with Benefit Cosmetics, and those who buy the cans also get a coupon from said cosmetics company.
