Lady Gaga is helping her dad, Joe Germanotta, open his own New York City eatery. Joe is set to open Joanna Trattoria, named after his sister and Lady Gaga’s aunt. Gaga’s real name is also Stefani Joanna Germanotta.

“It’s a real family effort,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “They’ve all been getting stuck in.”

Indeed, Gaga’s sister, Natali, has been decorating the walls with art, while Gaga is developing the menu. And surprisingly, it includes something more than wine and cigarettes.

The restaurant’s food choices include a ten layer lasagna, Grandma Rosie’s meatballs, Nutella donuts and mini-martinis.

You had me at lasagna and made me faint with Nutella donuts.

Joe Germanoota will run the restaurant along with celebrity chef Art Smith. And while Gaga wants to help out in the kitchen, there’s one reason why her father is apprehensive about her helping out.

“She’s left handed,” Joe said. “And every time I watch her chop, it makes me cringe.”

And even though Lady Gaga is playing a big part in her family’s eatery, don’t expect it to be a Gaga-themed restaurant. There will be no Lady Gaga-esque memorabilia. No giant eggs. No multicolored silk Versace pants.

“If [fans are] expecting to come in here and see Grammys and pictures and stuff like that, it’s not going to happen,” Joe told the New York Times.

But he does admit one thing: “She generates a lot of sizzle.”
