No, I’m not drunk typing. That means Happy New Year in Chinese, and today starts the celebrations, which run until February 6th. Chinese New Year celebrations are filled with pomp, circumstance, bells, whistles, and most importantly, big ass dragons. And considering this is the Year of the Dragon, expect an even bigger ass dragon.
The Venetian and The Palazzo are ringing in the Chinese New Year in Las Vegas with a whole lineup of awesome attractions, including a 128-foot, fire-breathing best of a dragon.

Burning pictures, Ecuador: Burning someone's photo is usually reserved for bad breakups, but in Ecuador, that's how they ring in the New Year. Locals get together with pictures that symbolize something from the past year and burn it. It's a way of saying goodbye to the past.
