Ridiculously Cheap Happy Hour Prices Across the U.S.

All of this debt ceiling, recession and economic downfall talk really puts a damper on things. Nowadays, we can barely afford to live, much less drink. And for some of us, those are one in the same. But good news, my fellow booze hounds. You can still get wasted without going broke. We're rallying up the most ridiculously cheap happy hours across our great country.

Los Angeles: The Edison: Every Thursday night, between 5pm, and 7pm, the Edison serves it's signature "1910 Martinis" for only 35 cents each. Yes, you read that right. They turn back the clocks to Depression-era prices. Of course, this swanky downtown LA bar get absolutely packed. But oddly enough, “a lot of people don’t even buy the 35-cent martinis," a waitress says. Perhaps because The Edison offers a variety of cocktails, and a delicious menu, too.

Houston: Valhalla: Deep in the heart of Texas, on the Rice University campus, sits the infamous Valhalla Bar that only locals seem to know about. For 95 cents, you can get a Ziegenbock or a Lonestar--the Texan's PBR. And nope, those aren't happy hour prices. Every hour is happy hour at Valhalla. And the rest of the drinks aren't much more expensive. Good luck finding parking, but once you do, I doubt you'll be going anywhere for a while. I've never said yee-haw, but this just might do it.

New York: Bravest: Got a dollar? It'll buy you an entire pitcher of Bud or Bud Lite at Bravest in NYC. At this East Side bar, from 5-7pm any day, you can afford to buy drinks for all your friends. And after hours, the pitchers aren't much more--only $2.50.

Hermosa Beach: Baja Sharkeez: Buy a burger at this laid-back burger shack, and for an hour, you get all-you-can-drink PBR for only 99 cents. And don't worry, they don't overcharge on the burgers to make up for it. The average price is about $7.

Scottsdale: Dos Gringos: On Thursdays from 9pm—12am, this taco joint serves 50 cent Coronas and well drinks. I'm thirsty already.

Ft. Collins, Colorado: Washington's: On Thursdays, you can get 25 cent drinks, but guzzle them down fast, because it's only between 9:30 and 10pm. On Saturdays, however, ladies drink for only 50 cents from 9-midnight.

Phoenix: Whiskey River Saloon: It was voted the Best Bar by the Phoenix New Times, and maybe that has something to do with their awesome drink prices. On Wednesdays, ladies drink for only 50 cents from 6pm-11pm. On Fridays, they have 99-cent drinks for all from 6pm to 10pm.

Washington D.C.: Occidental: Order any food item from 3-7pm, and you only pay 18 cents for your drink. Yes, please! The fine print? Only one per person and you have to order from chef Rodney Scruggs' menu. But with items like jumbo lump crab and artichoke fondue, it doesn’t sound too bad.
