When most of us donate stuff to charity, it’s like, old pajamas or maybe a shirt we bought in the wrong size. Bruce Willis? Oh, he’s just donating a ski resort.
Bruce is giving up his luxurious Idaho ski resort, reportedly handing it over to a nonprofit organization.
Bruce bought the waterfront cabin in the 1990s when he moved to Idaho with his then-wife Demi Moore.
Located in the Fairfeld area, the compound is worth $3.99 million. The area, in its entirety, sprawls out over 1,150 acres and has thee lifts to access a vertical rise of 1,425 feet.
The house itself has six bedrooms and six half bathrooms. Bruce tore down a cabin on the property in 1993, building three new ones. Now, the main cabin has three bedrooms, the second cabin has two bedrooms, and the third is a studio cabin with a full bathroom. And they’re all just sitting there, ready to be enjoyed.
John Palan, an employee with the local Soldier Mountain Recreation Association, says his group is hoping to get enough donations to take over the area's operations.
"If we can get our ducks in a row, seek sponsors and new members, we would like to transfer the Forest Service permit and continue operations," said Palan.
Meanwhile, there are 30 nonprofit ski areas operating in the U.S. Willis unloaded another one of his Idaho properties recently. Last year, he put his home on the market for $15 million. The estate boasted a guesthouse, gym, and pool (with water slides!) In 2010, Bruce put The Mint bar and nightclub on the market for $6 million, later dropping the price to $4 million.
