It's difficult finding a restaurant where the chef gets the right amount of spice. Thank goodness to the Spice Market in the hip Meatpacking district in New York. At this location, each plate has the right amount of ingredients.

Just ask regular Kanye West who keeps coming back to this venue for it's environment. "You're at tables where you sit low. It makes for good conversation."

Indeed you will have good conversation, as it's a great spot to meet people at the hip bar. My choice of drink is the restaurants signature Ginger Margarita.

Other must-haves include fried chicken wings, curried duck and my ultimate favorite the chicken samosas. Speaking of the samosas, I hear the restaurant sells over 130,000 plates each year. Singer Usher, Omar Epps and Bethenny Frankel are all fans of Jean-Georges’s take on the street foods of Southeast Asia.

The Spice Market also creates a world of fantasy with its post-colonial chic decor. The romantic lighting, luxurious drapes, ceiling fans and dark wood fixtures truly make you feel like you might be in the far east rather than NYC.
