Leeza Gibbon's Makes a Difference

The stars were out in Beverly Hills last night as Leeza Gibbons and Olivia Newton John teamed up with music legend David Foster to present the first annual Leeza Gibbon's Night to Make A Difference, at the iconic Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills.

The "party with a purpose" included an Oscars viewing party, a ten course meal, twittering with the stars, a live webcast from the event and an auction that brought money to various foundations. One of the big highlights of the night was when Michael Buble gave an unexpected, impromptu performance following Charice Pempengco’s rafter-shaking ballad, “Listen”.

One of the top spenders was Janice Dickinson, who told Hollyscoop, "I'm here to give back out of my pocket and give to Mrs. Gibbon's charity."

In the spirit of giving, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels confesses, "It's important to make a difference in peoples lives... a lot of the foster kids go through life thinking that nobody loves them or cares for them and so that's why we started the organization, Felix."

McDaniels is the co-founder of the Felix Organization, a foundation designed to improve the quality of life of children "who didn't get taken home."

At the event, Leeza Gibbons gave us the real scoop behind the star's on the red carpet and their jewels. "The economy is down and people are losing their jobs and their homes. Hollywood equals fantasy and people know that this stuff is borrowed. As stars, we know that we are representing glamour…Lets be honest some of the prices on these products that walk the red carpet, I would never pay to wear them in real life. But it's a great way to promote a line or business. The reality at home is that these are the people that roll up their sleeves and get down and dirty when they are not borrowing diamonds," Gibbons said.

At the event stars like Paris Hilton, Hilary Duff, Teri Hatcher got the chance to go upstairs for the Glam.com VIP Touch Up Lounge with Ken Paves sponsored by AVEENO® NOURISH+ Hair Care Collection.

We love that the stars can take a night, like the Oscars and turn their attention to selfless acts like giving back to charities.
