This island is a celeb destination due to it's private atmosphere. Just this past week Fast Five actress Michelle Rodriguez was spotted enjoying the pristine waters.
If you're planning on traveling to Spain, here are our top reasons why you must check out Formentera.
Good atmosphere: It's not as crazy as it's neighbor island Ibiza. With a population of just over 7000 and no airport, this is the perfect atmosphere to relax. The island is flat and sandy with magnificent, unspoiled beaches.

Where to eat: Formentera has many, many small restaurants, varying in price and quality. Top favorites include Cafe de Lago in La Savina, Sud and No Stress.
Where to get drunk: Casa Paco at night, by the port in La Savina, Big Sur, and The beach bar in Cala Sahona.
Where to Hear Good Music: Blue Bar Migjorn beach which has been around since the 1960’s. Guests at this bar enjoy fantastic sea views along Migjorn beach and good music by resident DJ.
Where to stay: Gecko Beach Club, Playa Migjorn, which is a cool modern boutique hotel with beach side restaurant.
How to keep busy: The island is known for it's cultural and historical attractions such as museums, castles, churches and art galleries. Tourists love the beach activities which include cycling, walking, snorkelling and sailing.
