The biggest skateboarders and rising stars competed for the largest skateboarding purse in history, over $450,000 in Prize Money at the OC Fair. The event was created by Joe Maloof, who is the owner of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
After the show there’s always an after party. The official after party took place at the Unix Mansion in Laguna Beach where Greg Lutzka hosted a special bash. Greg Lutzka, who won 7th place at the Maloof Money cup showed up to the party with pro-skater Lauren Perkins, who recently suffered a torn meniscus and was unable to participate in the contest. Lutzka yelled out to the press that Lauren was not his girlfriend, but then was seen flirting with her all night.
5th place champion and well known MTV star & pro skater Ryan Scheckler of Life of Ryan was also spotted at the party with his longtime girlfriend, and was escorted with his entourage to the VIP lounge. Scheckler shut the party down by telling party-goers about his early days of skating and hopes to be a pro snowboarder.
