The Sundance Film Festival usually gets more attention for its lavish parties than its actual movies.

Every year, lounges from all over the country set up remote locations on Main Street in Park City, where Tinseltown's crème de la crème party it up into the wee hours of the night. This year, there was one special guest that took the party scene by storm.

Bill Gates was seen partying it up at the House of Hype hospitality lounge in Park City this past weekend. Yes, you heard it right, Bill Gates was partying!

This was Gates' first year at the Film Festival and he has every reason to celebrate! The creator of Bing.com, Microsoft's new search engine, stole Paris Hilton's thunder as he got more press for partying than she did.

One of the first films to be sold at Sundance was David Guggenheim’s, Waiting For Superman, which Gates makes a cameo in. The film documents our poor educational system in the United States. The movie was a passion project for Bill and his wife Melinda, as they've founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is dedicated to bringing innovations in health and learning to the global community.

Waiting For Superman is produced by Participant Media, which has four documentaries in this year's festival and also produced the Oscar winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth.

Stay tuned for more party scoop from the Sundance Film festival, but in the meantime, check out the photos below.
